Xerox Printer Ink Cartridge
Xerox is an American document management company which manufacture and supply a wide range of monochrome and colour printers, multifunction systems and photocopiers worldwide.
Xerox was founded in 1906 as the Haloid company manufacturing photographic paper and equipment. Xerox became the first supplier of plain paper photocopiers with the Xerox 914 in 1959. Xerox is now known worldwide as a very big name in photocopying but especially in the USA. It is common place for workers in a US officeplace to refer to their photocopier as a Xerox and they might say "I want you to Xerox that for me" where the machine may or may not even by a Xerox. Although Xerox are famous for their photocopiers they are also very ranged in colour printing solutions with their Phaser brand of printers.
Xerox manufacture and supply a good selection of Black and Colour printers across the world. One of their most prevalent products is the Xerox Phaser 8400 laser printer. Like the majority of Xerox laser printers the printer takes a 4 cartridge configuration (Black, Cyan, Yellow & Magenta) however unlike a lot of laser printing technology the Xerox Phaser 8400 uses a solid ink technology. The solid ink or wax sticks operate in a similar way to a normal laser printer but the wax sits on the paper rather than a simple print and has a slightly raised feel giving a more realistic print. The Xerox Phaser 8400 takes the Black (108R00604), Cyan (108R00605), Yellow(108R00607) and Magenta (108R00606). All of the wax sticks perform at around 3400 pages on average however the Black also comes in a 6800 page life cartridge (108R00608).
