Brother is one the worlds leading suppliers of home and business ink printers, label printers, fax machines and sewing machines.

Brother first started when Kanekichi Yasui the Yasui Sewing Machine Company in 1908. Between 1908 and 1934 the company grew supplying domestic sewing machines until they became Nippon Sewing Machine Manufacturing Company (now Brother Industries, Ltd.). It wasn't until 1961 with the advent of the computer revolution that Brother moved into the business machines market and in 1971 they launched the world's first high speed dot-matrix printer. They are now known primarily for their facsimile (fax) machines where they can claim title to be number one around the world. This printer series takes the no.900 Brother inkjet cartridges taking a Black cartridge (LC-900BK), Cyan cartridge (LC-900C), Magenta cartridge (LC-900M) and Yellow cartridge (LC-900Y). Another popular Brother printer is the Brother MFC-5460CN which again takes a 4 cartridge configuration, the no.1000 cartridge series. The Brother MFC-5460CN takes a Black cartridge (LC1000BK), Cyan cartridge (LC1000C), Magenta cartridge (LC1000M) and Yellow cartridge (LC1000Y). Each of the no.1000 cartridges performs at around 500 pages on average.
